HOW DO I BOOK A COURSE/CLINIC?

HOW IS SEA KAYAKING SCHOOL OF MANITOBA DIFFERENT FROM OTHER COMPANIES?
Sea Kayaking School of Manitoba is focused on running accessible programs to meet the needs of the students. A strong emphasis on water stewardship and environmental conservation is present in all the courses. Head instructor Alex Martin experience in Lake Winnipeg allows him to instruct with local knowledge of the water.
WHERE ARE COURSES RUN?
Courses are run through out the province of Manitoba, provided that there is an interest in a course. On-going courses are run at Victoria Beach and Gimli. Clinics are run in Winnipeg, Victoria Beach, and Gimli.
IS THERE REQUIRED GEAR FOR THE COURSES?
To take the courses, students are required to have:
Kayak with proper floatation and proper fit for student
A sea kayak is required for the Basic and Level 1 Sea Kayak courses (bulkheads, thigh/knee brace)
ULC approved PFD that properly fits student
Kayak Bilge Pump
15 meter buoyant heaving line
Paddle Float (Basic and Level 1 Sea Kayak Course)
Required gear is based on Paddle Canada standards and Transport Canada requirements.
I'M MISSING A PIECE OF REQUIRED GEAR.
No worries! Please contact us for suggestions on purchases or for rental options. We always recommend purchasing the proper gear, as much of it is required by Transport Canada.
DO ANY OF THE COURSES OR CLINICS HAVE PREREQUISITES?
Course and clinics with prerequisites will have them listed in the description. However, it is at the instructor's discretion.
I DON'T MEET ONE OR MORE OF THE PREREQUISITES, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
Please contact the Sea Kayaking School of Manitoba for options to proceed, including private coaching or evaluation.
IS THERE A DISCOUNT FOR GROUP BOOKINGS?
Yes! Group bookings (3 or more students) in the East Beaches area save 10% on course/clinic fees; group bookings that fill a course (6 students) will save 15% on course/clinic costs. For students outside the East Beaches area, please contact us for private lesson fees and potential discounts.
